Why we allow employees to bring their dogs to work

At ProGlove we have a handful of office dogs to cheer up our days. Here is why we allow employees to bring their dogs to work.  According to an article by Time Magazine “dogs in the workplace provide more social support for employees, as well as more opportunities for coworkers to interact in a positive setting.” Here our Head of Logistics Mario explains why bringing his dog Salta can ease stress (and even tough meetings).

Bringing my dog reduces stress for both of us

“Dogs were welcome at ProGlove from the start. The most important thing for me was that my dog was happy at the office. Because what is the sense of taking her if she doesn’t like it. Our offices are big and she just walks around or plays.

From my side, it is wonderfully easy because in the morning she just comes along with me and I don’t need to worry about where to leave her or worry about her being alone. It is so nice to have her next to me the whole day long. This doesn’t mean I can play and take care of her all the time, I have work to do too, but she knows I am here. It takes away a lot of stress for both of us. My dog helps me to relieve tension or feeling of pressure at work too, because she forces me to move, feed or walk her and she takes my mind off things. She does this with other colleagues too. One of the nicest things is to see the smiles she puts on peoples faces every time she takes a stroll through the office. During meetings she will find a comfortable place under the table and it won’t take long and we hear her snoring loudly. It eases the toughest of meetings!” (Mario Grosek, Head of Logistics at ProGlove)
