ProGlove´s Solution for Logistics

Lufthansa Technik introduced ProGlove to boost its logistics processes to be as efficient as possible – especially at its warehouse entries. Prioritized shipments are identified and processed more quickly by an alert from the MARK device on the back of the worker’s hand – even before the standardized storage process begins. Employees were not required to manually match shipment numbers as they did previously. In effect, the error rate was significantly decreased. Workers can now move more freely, receive deliveries, and enter the items barcode more accurately.

Almost 65,000 different items are stored at Lufthansa Technik’s Munich site. On average, each part is stored and retrieved twice a year. For security reasons, continuous parts tracking is of the utmost importance. Start delays due to technical defects are not only costly, but lead to subsequent expenditures in the procurement of adequate spare parts. The highest safety standards must be met. These are the main reasons why they decided to switch to ProGlove.

ProGlove Solution

Subsequently to the integration of ProGlove wearable scanners, in a matter of seconds every incoming part is captured in the system, information is available on how fast and where items have to be transported and ultimately items with the Aircraft on Ground (AOG) warning signal are identified and handled with the highest priority. By giving operators direct visual, acoustic, and haptic feedback on their working steps, ProGlove’s smart wearables helped Lufthansa Technik Logistics Services eliminating mistakes and improving process quality.
