ProGlove´s Solution for the Automotive Industry

AUDI needed to raise the bar on process excellence and relied on ProGlove wearable barcode scanners to increase their process efficiency. In the CKD process, different parts are commissioned and packed in bigger cardboard boxes for shipments. The workers verify every part by scanning a barcode, which is crucial since no shipments can contain an incorrect part.


INDUSTRY CHALLENGE: The need for accurate and efficient tracking of original parts and accessories at all stages of production and delivery of pre-orders.

SUBSTANTIAL RESULT: A minimum of four seconds saved per scan, on a thousand vehicles built per day, makes for substantial time savings across the shop floor.


Barcode scanning has become the essential activity within automotive processes with every part and every vehicle scanned multiple times throughout its journey from inception to delivery. The micro efficiency of saving just four seconds per scan on all the scans along that journey can translate into thousands of dollars in cost savings per vehicle.

You don't have to do any more reaching around. That means the worker no longer has to fetch a scanner from another position. He can really carry out his work fluidly.

Audi was looking to raise the bar on process excellence. At one workstation, different parts are processed and packed for large shipments. Each part that is being handled has a barcode that needs to be scanned to make sure that the shipment doesn’t include any incorrect parts.
